3 Ways To Spend The Last Of Your Marketing Budget Before EOFY
The EOFY, or end of the financial year as it is formerly known, is a time for reflection in business. What was done well. What could be done better and what will be done next year are all common questions during this period of introspection. Yet for marketing departments it can also be a cause for concern. Especially when it comes to spending the last of their marketing budget before the June 30th deadline.
Having a surplus in your marketing budget come the end of the financial year is never a good thing. You run the risk of having the budget cut next year. On the basis that you didn’t spend it all this year. You could also be looked upon unfavourably by the bosses. For not maximising the funds that were made available to you.
As a consequence May and June can often see a flurry of panic marketing spend. The question is how effective is it?
Ideas to spend the last of your marketing budget
If you are finding yourself in the situation of needing to spend the last of your marketing budget before the 30th June then this trio of suggestions is something you should consider.
This would certainly make your correspondence stand out more. Especially against the non-descript letters that would also land on their desk.
Alternatively you could run a stand in a high foot traffic area like a shopping centre or train station and giveaway the promo bags to passes by. This works especially well if you include a comp slip or letter inside the bag with a specific call to action.
“Events are always a winner. Treat your staff to a nice party, run a networking event or host an open day”
Most people like receiving gifts and you can be sure there are plenty of people associated with your business who would certainly like to receive a chocolate gift box.
This is a great way to acknowledge staff for the great work they do (and being during mid year they would not expect it).
You could also thank key suppliers for their help in contributing to the success of your business or perhaps most importantly thank your 10 best customers for their continued loyalty.
For a small outlay this is a very effective way of increasing sales, productivity and motivation.
Host An Event
Take it from me they are mighty effective. Especially if you provide the attendees with a takeaway noodle box or bag. Branded with your company logo and website, they work well if it has inside the key messages you are trying to get across.
